Based in Mackay Queensland, Flor-Hanly was established in 1971 by Cliff Flor, a highly respected Mackay businessman with cane and grazing interests.
Flor-Hanly is now lead by Director Tony Olsen. We have a very strong team of more than 25 accounting and support staff, who focus on delivering outstanding professional service to all clients. We are at the forefront of using the best accounting software so that we help you keep your fingers on the pulse of your operation. We are experts in XERO, Figured and a large range of other software so that we can support and guide our clients reach their personal and business goals.
Who we look after
At Flor-Hanly, we specialise in advising commercial and agribusiness clients, as well as retirees. A significant proportion of our clients are located in Central and Northern Queensland, although we work with many organisations and individuals from further afield. Our team are experts at working with rural and remote clients. Whilst we enjoy visiting your properties and businesses whenever we can. Our digital capabilities mean we also provide excellent service remotely using cutting edge meeting technology. We have strong teams of professionals with expertise across a broad range of industries including but not limited to, primary production, the health professions, mining, construction, catering and other service industries, as well as Self Managed Super Funds.
Our ideal clients are not determined by the industry they are in, but by the value they place on strategic planning and advice. We enjoy helping new businesses owners take their first steps. We help them out in place the right structures, accountability and planning to enable long term success. For more mature businesses, we offer a wide range of options including a virtual CFO service, regular meetings (usually monthly or quarterly), financial modelling and succession planning.
What we do
We do all the things other accounting firms do, such as taxation and superannuation. What makes us different however, is that we have a bigger focus. A common comment from new clients after their first strategic planning meeting is that they have never had a planning meeting like that at their previous firm and that they love the lack of Jargon. It is important to us that the numbers and reports that we provide clients with are 'real time' numbers and the reports are meaningful and easy to understand. We won't give you meaningless jargon!

How you pay us
Traditionally accountants, along with most professionals, have charged for their work on a time based billing model. The problem with this is you don't know what you will be paying until after the work has been finished. Phone calls and meetings are also normally clocked up under this model.
At Flor-Hanly we believe that up front pricing is a far more transparent and fair model. This is reviewed annually. Before we commence any work for you, we will provide you with a plan of what we are going to do and what the fee will be. You can then decide if you want us to proceed or not. We have an easy direct debit system that keeps you in complete control and also ensures that paying our bills is done easily.

Our Head Office is located in North Mackay, Queensland. We visit Clermont at least monthly. We have a strong contingent of team members who work remotely, including in Brisbane.
